Colorado Fly Fishing
We started getting a bump in flows and then 'Here comes the mud'. The Crystal River has been getting bigger and contributing to the Roaring Fork River flow nearly tripling the flow. The Colorado River has also grown almost 3 times what it was. The Frying Pan River just got bumped up to 100+cfs. It is a good thing but expect mud at times in various portions of the rivers. Sometimes you can go upvalley to find clearer water.
Give us a call before coming up to check current conditions. We can't tell you what rock to stand on but we can steer you to the most fishable water.
Contact us at either shop for the most current reports or for more details see our Roaring Fork Valley Fishing Report.
Our Colorado Fly Shops

Fly Fishing Guide Trips
Roaring Fork Anglers and our guides have been chosen best Guide Service 9 times be the readers of the Glenwood Post Independent. We’ve been doing Colorado Fly Fishing Guide Trips on these waters since 1980 and hold outfitting permits for float and wade fishing on the Roaring Fork River, Eagle River and upper and lower Colorado River. We also offer wade fishing on both the Frying Pan River and the Crystal River, and have access to several private ranches and spring creeks that are capable of producing trophy trout. Check out our Discount on Spring Fly Fishing Guide Trips.
With the help of a long time outfitter of the Gunnison Gorge, we are now booking three-day/two-night fly-fishing trips on the ‘Gunnie’. This trip is a good bet especially when we are in the middle of runoff here in the valley.
For accurate, up-to-date conditions check the Fishing Report, our Hatch Chart and River Flows.
