Colorado Fly Fishing
Early Summer 2015
Runoff has finally arrived!
After a cool wet May that increased our snowpack and pushed back runoff nearly 4 weeks, Summer has Arrived, and the Snow is melting!! Our Rivers are high and off color as they should be right now. We are expecting fishable conditions around the last week of June, but we will keep you posted…
There are fishing opportunities on area still waters and we have access to some really BIG fish on a few ranches in the area.
The fish on the Fryingpan River have been munching Midges, Baetis & Caddis on most days. You may even find a 'mysis hatch' near the dam. Don't forget the TP!
The Roaring Fork River has had good clarity top to bottom the past few days, and the fish have responded. Above Carbondale has stayed clear, and fishable all spring.
The Colorado River is a bit high, and brownish green. Call us to see if it green 'cause we have seen Salmon Flies on it this spring. Not allot, but they are there and fish wilol rise to them..
Call us before you come up for the most up-to-date conditions. Stop by one of our shops to stock up on the best flies for where you plan on fishing. For more details see our Roaring Fork Valley River Flow information page. We are also home to the Roaring Fork Valley Fishing Report.
Check out our Closeouts! We just cut prices even further on Oakley Sunglasses & Patagonia Rock Grip Wading Boots.
Fly Fishing Guide Trips
Roaring Fork Anglers, Alpine Angling and our select guides have been chosen Best Local Guide Service since 2004. Since 1980 we’ve done Colorado Fly Fishing Guide Trips on Roaring Fork Valley waters and beyond.
From Fly Fishing in Aspen to Fly Fishing in Rifle, We also hold outfitting permits for float and wade fishing on the Roaring Fork River, upper and lower Colorado River & Eagle River. We also offer wade fishing on both the Frying Pan River and the Crystal River, and have access to several private ranches and spring creeks that are capable of producing trophy trout.
Check out our Roaring Fork Valley Fly Fishing Report for recent activity of fish and bugs.
With the help of a long time outfitter of the Gunnison Gorge, we are now booking three-day/two-night fly-fishing trips on the ‘Gunnie’ for 2014.
For accurate, up-to-date conditions check the Fishing Report, our River Flows and Hatch Chart.
